Wyoming Machinery Company in Gillette, Wyoming is seeking experienced Field Welders to facilitate welding projects and repairs on draglines, shovels and related ancillary equipment. This position requires traveling and overnight stays. Facilitate welding projects and repairs primarily on shovels and draglines and related ancillary equipment in and around Campbell County, other Wyoming counties, and other states.  Incumbent must be able to travel up to a minimum of 50% of the time to work on assigned field projects out of the Campbell County area requiring overnight stays

-   Must be able to pass AWS D1.1 standard 1” plate welding test using 1/16” dual shield wire
-   Knowledgeable in various areas, including gearing, bearings, seals, bushings, and hydraulics 
-   Must be proficient in layout, fit-up and fabrication 
-   Possess and maintain certifications in 8000Ni2, II70, Stick and Hardwire
-   Understand and utilize tools for set up and layout work
-   Be proficient with hand and automatic torches, MIG, TIG, and Brazing, Automatic welding, rotators, Bug-O’s, etc
-   Familiar with N.D.T. including U.T. and M.T.
-   Proficient in bore build-up, structural repair, and crack repair 
-   Demonstrates ability to run sub-arc when required
-   Have a demonstrated ability to perform light machining, utilizing drills, taps, etc.  
-   Be proficient in welding and cutting of all types 
-   Possess a proficient understanding of metallurgy and its application to welding
-   Possess appropriate tools per the Welder Tool List

-   Minimum high school diploma or equivalent 
-   Additional technical schooling and/or on the job training, preferred

-    Four (4) or more years’ experience in the trade
-    Welding work experience on shovels and draglines, preferred

-   Primarily outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels
-   Frequent exposure to all outdoor weather conditions and rough and uneven terrain
-   Frequent exposure to substances, including/not limited to: industrial chemicals, hydraulic fluid, grease, oil, dust, dirt and other elements in the outdoor work environment
-   Frequent bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing and performing overhead work
-   Frequent use of ladders and steps for accessing equipment.
-   Frequent lifting up to 50lbs with or without assistance.
-   Frequent use of hands for grasping, pushing, pulling, manipulating tools/objects, writing, etc.
-   Exposure to dangerous environments, including mine sites and construction sites required.
-   Sitting in and potentially driving a vehicle for long periods
-   Overtime, varying schedules, and overnight stays away from home
