Work in a team environment to provide product and weld design feasibility from a processing perspective. Qualification and optimization of processes for all new programs being launched to ensure manufacturing objectives are met. Responsible to provide supervison and leadership to production employees with a focus on Safety, Environmental, Quality, Employee Relations and Prodcution.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Work and dress safely (i.e. properly wear all necessary personal protective equipment; demonstrate safe use of all machinery, equipment and supplies.)
  • Adjust Assembly/Weld Equipment to comply with customer welding and dimensional specifications, to provide a quality part to manufacturing at the required production rates.
  • Carry out all maintenance and adjustments to equipment in a timely manner.
  • Communicate interruptions in production or Quality issues to shift supervisor and fellow technicians.
  • Conduct beginning of shift team meetings.
  • Maintain RPM system and answer exceptions on a daily basis.
  • Record Daily Production and Scrap accurately.
  • Instruct and coach team members to attain and reach daily goals
  • Run to the production schedule
  • Keep Production Boards updated
  • Track and Report Defects to Manager
  • Track and report Downtime to Manager
  • Run to the quality standards
  • Keep Fast Response Boards and verification boards updated hourly.
  • Monitor Hold Areas and take responsibility to make disposition and repair product.
  • Conduct LPA’s for assigned areas
  • Conduct 5S audits of assigned areas
  • Perform pre shift and post shift Outdoor Lot walk
  • Keep staffing plan updated
  • Communicate in Area Log Book
  • Eliminate Road Blocks that are keeping team from reaching targets
  • Inspect and keep forklifts, rolling carts, and material handling equipment maintained
  • Communicate low inventory levels to purchasing as needed.
  • Communicate with team members, other departments, and managers.
  • Delegate responsibilities to individuals and follow up for completion
  • Continuous Improvement and Problem Solving of Department and Plant issues.
  • Involvement in kaizen activities to develop process improvements for scrap, changeovers, pcs/hr., and overtime.
  • Empower the Associates to be part of the team to make changes and improvements.
  • Take ownership of area and run it as it is yours, for it is.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Back up Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cross Train to be able to lead other area of department.
  • Assist with scheduling.
  • Assist with inventories.
  • Other duties as instructed by Manager



  • The electro/mechanical adjustment, maintenance and cleanliness of all plant Weld/Assembly Equipment and work areas on a day-to-day basis.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Minimum 2 years’ experience in Metal Stamping, facility and equipment maintenance
  • Possess a Post-secondary degree, diploma or a Provincial skilled trades ticket in a related field, or equivalent
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written


Education and/or Experience:

  • Computer literate with Excel, Word and other software or computer operating systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma (Degree preferred but not required).
  • Overtime and weekend work required.
  • Dedication-good work ethic
  • Good attendance required and works in a safe manner
  • Detail-oriented and well organized and able to manage a variety of activities with minimum supervision.
