Industrial Maintenance / Technology Instructor (Tenure Track)

Full-time, 175 days, tenure track, as a community college Industrial Maintenance and Industrial Technology Instructor. The teaching assignment will include regular assignment to Industrial Maintenance and Industrial Technology courses equal to 15 lecture hours of student contact time. The assignment also includes mandatory office hours and service on participatory governance committees and councils. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, weekend, and off-campus sites.
Teach Industrial Maintenance and Industrial Technology courses, including development, curriculum, observation, practicum and special topics courses.
Demonstrate versatility in instructional methodology and technology and the ability to serve diverse student populations
Plan, develop, and implement course curricula including curricula to be delivered via distance learning.
Maintain a current syllabus and provide current course orientation materials for each assigned course.
Attend and actively contribute to meetings or activities pertinent to faculty responsibilities or assignments including but not limited to department meetings, advisory committee meetings, and academic senate.
Participate in recruiting and articulation activities with local schools, other community colleges, and four-year colleges.
Maintain currency in subject matter and developments in the field.

A Bachelors Degree AND two years professional experience OR Associates Degree AND six years of professional experience. An applicant may qualify for this position by having education and experience equivalent to the listed degrees.
Bachelors Degree in a field related to Industrial Maintenance or Industrial Technology
Demonstrated experience of installation, inspection, maintenance, and primary repair of mechanical equipment involved with operation and maintenance of equipment in a variety of manufacturing and industrial settings.
Demonstrated experience in plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance of machinery.
Knowledge and ability to dismantle, repair, and reassemble machinery such as motors, pumps, valves, bearings, conveyer lines and palletizer, conduct preventative maintenance audits and perform repair, set-up for all manufacturing equipment, office, heating and cooling, and electrical systems.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability, and ethnic background of community college students.

Environment: Classroom/LabPhysical Abilities: Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer terminal; speaking and hearing to exchange information; sitting, climbing, lifting.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENTA full-time, 10 - month, certificated position.
SALARY AND BENEFITS$47,106 - $51,335
Initial placement on the Certificated Salary Schedule will be commensurate with education and experience not to exceed Step 3, Column B ($51,335). The District provides an excellent health and welfare package which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance and income protection. Current employer contribution not to exceed $15,900 per year. Enrollment in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) is required. Position is within the BCFA/CTA Bargaining Unit and subject to Association dues.
